Panel Twelve 2019

Jessica Giguere, 16, CHS

My artwork is about all the different races, genders, and sexualities and how at the end of the day we come together to support all the differences in the world. No matter the shape or size, we connect like a puzzle, but the world is the puzzle and we are the pieces, unique and colorful. In other ways, we are a puzzle because society makes it hard for us to be unique. You are considered weird and need to fit piece by piece, same shape, size, and color. But, if anything, we are a jigsaw puzzle all different colors and sizes fitting into one thing to make a beautiful picture to present to the world. We show them by being the colorful puzzle we are that together we rise, together we stand, and the stronger we become by being one. In my opinion, we should stand tall and proud and let our freak flags fly high! We are unique to stand out, not to fit into a dull grey picture but into a beautiful sunset with a rainbow in the back showing that we are strong, beautiful, and young no matter our age. So this painting represents all of this because it's beautiful, yet confusing all in one.

I put two different kinds of people holding hands to show that together we are strong.

All of the things around the planet are the things that pollute the ocean and slowly kill the sea animals.

Vanessa Alicea, 16, CHS

My painting means together we rise because if we come together we can rise. I put puzzle pieces because that is us coming together with a blue sky.

I named my artwork Holiday Stroll Harmony showing the gorgeous event held in downtown Nashua on Main Street. I wanted to capture everyone's togetherness and display our harmony and kindness to one another, all raising candles as the giant tree was lit marvelously.

Gabriella Alicea, 16, CHS

The hands represent people coming together from all different walks of life. People can come together and work together to create a world full of peace and harmony.
